Classic Menu Bar
Classic Usage Conventions
For Notebook style windows, you will see a menu bar that allows you to add new items, save, delete, &c. Notebook style windows are present in all areas apart from Audits, Policies and Appraisals; these are outside the scope of this training and if you have these modules they will be covered by your trainer.
The options displayed will vary, but the table below covers the most commonly available buttons.
Note: the availability of these buttons is tied to access privileges, so they will only be available if you have been given the appropriate permission.
New

A new item can be created by clicking the New button, providing a blank template in the right hand screen.
For example, a new report can be created in Report Central by clicking this button which starts the wizard-based report builder.

Delete
|

An item can be fully deleted from the Covalent system by clicking the Delete button; a warning message appears so that you can confirm your deletion.
Once deleted, an item cannot be recovered.

Save
|

|
Any changes made to an item can be saved by clicking the Save button.
|
Refresh
|

|
The Refresh button reloads the current item, which will reflect any changes that have been made by other users.

Revert
|

|
The Revert button will abandon any changes made since the last save and reloads the current item.
|
Copy
|

|
An existing item can be copied using the Copy button; this is used in conjunction with the Paste button.

Paste
|

|
A copied item can be pasted using the Paste button; this is used in conjunction with the Copy button.

If an item is part of a tree hierarchy e.g. an action which has sub-actions, click this button to open a new tab with only this item in the navigation pane.
